The Riverbank Community Mahjong Program is designed to introduce new players to Mahjong through beginner-friendly classes and then support continued participation through an ongoing community club.
This creates a simple pathway for residents: learn the game, practice with support, and stay connected through regular social play.

Learn Mahjong Classes
Best for new players who want a structured, beginner-friendly introduction to Mahjong.
- Format: Instructor-led class
- Schedule: Every Wednesday, 3:15 PM – 4:45 PM
- Minimum: 2 students required per class

Learn Mahjong Classes
Learn Mahjong Classes give new players a clear, welcoming introduction to the game. Students learn tile recognition, table flow, basic strategy, and guided play.

The Riverbank Mahjong Club provides ongoing opportunities for open play, practice, strategy support, and social connection — four sessions every month, every Wednesday evening.

Registration Process
Learn Mahjong Classes
- Registration is managed by the City of Riverbank Recreation Department.
- The City provides the participant roster prior to each class session.
- If fewer than 2 students are registered, the class will be rescheduled to the next Wednesday session. Registered students are automatically transferred.
Riverbank Mahjong Club
- Registration is managed by the City of Riverbank Recreation Department.
- Registration closes at 12:00 PM one day prior to each session.
- The City provides the final participant roster one day prior to each club session.
Marketing & Promotion
Mahjong Academy will actively promote the Learn Mahjong Classes and Riverbank Mahjong Club through the HeyMahjong website, email list, social media channels, and existing student network.
All registrations and participant management will continue to be handled through the City of Riverbank Recreation Department.

How do I register?
Registration is completed through the City of Riverbank Recreation Department registration system.
What happens if fewer than 2 students register for a class?
