Los Gatos Mahjong Classes
A Town of Los Gatos Recreation Program in Partnership with Mahjong Academy
Mahjong Academy is proud to partner with the Town of Los Gatos to offer the Mahjong Foundations Series and single-session workshops for adults at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center. The program is delivered through Los Gatos–Saratoga Community Education & Recreation.
About the Class
Mahjong Foundations builds your skills step by step, so you feel comfortable and confident at the table. Each class deepens your understanding of strategy, gameplay, and table etiquette in an encouraging and interactive environment.
Expert instruction gives you confidence with the tiles, the rules, and the flow of the game, while you enjoy a genuinely fun and social experience. No prior experience is required.

Two formats are offered this fall at the Los Gatos Adult Recreation Center, Room 3: a four-week series and two standalone workshops.

Series or Workshop — Which Should You Choose?
Both start from the beginning and assume no experience. The difference is pacing, not level.
Foundations Series
$175 · Four FridaysOne hour a week for four weeks. Skills build between sessions and there is time to practise what you learned before the next class.
Best if you want the game to stick, and if a weekly hour suits your schedule better than one long afternoon.
Foundations Workshop
$115 · One 2.5-hour sessionEverything in one sitting: the tiles, the rules, and guided play, in a single two-and-a-half-hour afternoon.
Best if you want to learn quickly, are visiting, or cannot commit to four weeks. Offered on a Friday and a Saturday.
