Why This Beginner Mahjong Class Works

Mahjong can look intimidating at first, but it becomes much easier when it is taught in a clear, structured way.

Our beginner class works because it focuses on:

  • step-by-step instruction
  • real gameplay instead of only rules
  • tile recognition and pattern building
  • small-group guidance
  • beginner-friendly pacing
  • confidence before independent play

Mahjong is more than a game. It is a social and strategic experience that people can enjoy for life.

What You’ll Learn

In our Complete Workshop, a 2-hour beginner Mahjong class, you’ll learn:

  • how Mahjong works from start to finish
  • tile types and hand structure
  • how to build a complete hand
  • what to discard and why
  • how to recognize simple patterns
  • how to follow the flow of a real game
  • how to start playing with more confidence

By the end of class, you should be able to follow a real Mahjong game, understand the basic decisions being made, and continue practicing with more confidence.
