In-Person Mahjong Classes & Lessons

Expert-led, small-group Mahjong classes offered in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Central Valley (Riverbank, Modesto, and nearby cities).

We offer two levels of in-person instruction:

Beginner Foundations (2.5 Hours) — For new and returning players who want clear structure, real understanding, and confident gameplay. After every session, students receive access to our Class Recap page, where you can review the full lesson walkthrough and reinforce the fundamentals at your own pace.

Advanced Strategy & Fans (2 Hours) — For players who already know the basics and want sharper decision-making, stronger hand development, and a deeper understanding of fans.

Each class is hands-on, structured, and thoughtfully designed to help you think strategically — not just memorize rules.

Every in-person class includes 1 month of Core membership to Mahjong Academy for continued practice with our new AI Mahjong Coach.tinued practice with our AI Mahjong Coach and guided learning support after class.

Online Mahjong Classes & Lessons — Learn from Anywhere

Can’t attend in person? Learn from home with structured online learning and guided mahjong instruction.

Our online program teaches the same core foundations as our in-person classes — tile recognition, hand structure, discard logic, and strategic thinking — through a calm, step-by-step learning experience.

Instead of memorizing rules, you’ll learn how to see the game: recognizing strong shapes, avoiding common traps, and making clearer decisions as the hand develops.
